ORIGINAL FRAME IDEA
1/2" PVC fittings make most of the frame structure. I drilled several 1/4" holes for water to fill the frame.
I
added two 2" couplings to protect the FRONT and REAR propellers mounted near the top of the ROV.
The 'tilting' function is kept near
the top to avoid or minimize settlement disturbance as I try to manuver the ROV as it searches the bottom of the lake.
FYI
The Front
& Rear motors are also used for diving and surfacing the ROV. The tilting function to manuver the claw into position to pick up
stuff might be a bit tricky but it was much simpler than building a movable arm with the claw, camera and lights mounted on it.
I'll
let you know if I made the right decision.
Main flotation is provided by the two 3" dia PVC floats.
The skids are 1" PVC and water tight
with a screwed on cap so I can fill it with lead weights as needed.
